The Smart Clean Filament’s main purpose is to clean the extruder if you use different materials in your 3D printer. This helps in maintenance of your 3D printer. Furthermore, using this filament also helps in increasing the lifetime of your hotend.
This is due to the fact that this filament specifically removes residue left inside the extruder, by ensuring that the dirt adhering to the filament does not enter the extruder.
More recently, unique filaments are being used in 3D printing. These filaments sometimes consist of several components. If you are a frequent user of special filaments such as Wood filaments, it is recommended to finish printing using the Clean filament. This filament can remove all traces of polymer deposited in the extruder.
Directions for Use:
Temperature is a key factor if you want this material to clean the extrusion system of your 3D printer well. Heat up the extruder until it exceeds the melting temperature of the last material you have used by 10ºC. For example, if you have used ABS in your 3D printer previously, you should set the extrusion temperature at approximately 250ºC.
After that, load the Smart Clean Filament and extrude a certain amount of material. Finally, unload the filament and reload your 3D printer with your desired material.
